Mackenzie's cover of Bjork's iconic song, Hyperballad (featuring Aviva Jaye) came to fruition when Mackenzie heard Jaye's live solo guitar and voice performance a few years ago. The collaboration came about in part for Mackenzie's new radio show, Self Love Sunday (airing Sundays on Righteous Babe Radio). "We took her solo guitar track and reversed and manipulated it to create a textural sonic landscape for our dual vocals, then John Mark Nelson mixed it to transcendent pop perfection. To me, this song speaks of ritual and the importance of coming home to ourselves each day, and there's no one who embodies that in their work and their being more than Aviva Jaye." -Jocelyn Mackenzie
